TCF Newsletter August 2025

Dear Friends,

I’m happy to report that the new Larkspur Library has entered an exciting new phase of construction! With all major exterior structural work complete, the building is now being enclosed.

Construction of the new library is moving at a fast pace. View the latest photo from the construction cam.

This stage includes the installation of sheathing and weatherproofing wraps in preparation for the final exterior finishes. Currently, all exterior walls are in place — awaiting their siding or plaster — and the remaining openings are ready for the upcoming installation of windows and doors.

Behind the scenes, progress is moving swiftly:

  • Interior walls are fully framed
  • Electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and fire suppression systems are underway
  • Window and door installation are scheduled for mid-August

Inside and out, the project remains on schedule. We’re especially excited about what’s ahead: the creation of beautiful outdoor areas designed for community use and enjoyment.

Stay tuned for the enhanced landscaping plans which will be unveiled this September. These include The Commons area between the entrance and parking area, and a habitat garden, which will wrap around the east and south edges of the site.

Fundraising Update: Outdoor Spaces That Invite Community Connection

Thanks to the City’s vision, the exterior layout of the library is also expanding. An additional 8,000 sq ft between the parking area and the front entrance will be transformed into a welcoming space with trees, seating, and gathering areas — perfect for meeting friends, enjoying the views, or participating in outdoor library programs.

The Commons Foundation (TCF) continues fundraising to ensure these outdoor spaces are as inviting as the library itself, with:
Comfortable, durable furnishings
Sustainable landscaping
Plenty of trees and vibrant garden zones
Shade structures
Your tax-deductible gift helps bring these areas to life.

Donor Recognition Wall: Celebrate Your Support

In collaboration with architect Chris Noll’s team, we’re helping design a beautiful Donor Recognition Wall inside the new library. This wall will honor gifts of $5,000 or more, and there’s still time to make a new donation or add to a previous gift to reach this level.

We’ll be contacting donors shortly with specific options for how names will appear on the wall, including letter counts and formatting.

Leave a Legacy: Room Naming Opportunities Available

Room naming opportunities are still available, offering a lasting way to support the library and be part of its legacy. Options range from study rooms to larger gathering spaces.

Interested in learning more? We’d love to talk with you about how you or your organization can make a lasting impact.

Thank you again for your generosity, enthusiasm, and support. With your help, we’re bringing this vibrant community hub to life — and we’re getting closer every day.

Warmly,
