Dear Friend,
Mother’s Day is just around the corner — Sunday, May 12. In my eyes, a mother can be your first friend, your best friend, your forever friend.
Moms are like buttons — they hold everything together. A mother’s hug lasts long after she lets go. I would say the only thing better than being a Mom is becoming a Grandma! Happy Mother’s Day to all the Mom’s and Grandma’s out there!
New Library Project Update
The City’s timeline to break ground for the new library infrastructure and parking lot is still on track for this summer. The infrastructure cost is covered by the $1M Levine grant.
TCF continues fundraising for specific furnishings, landscape, and outdoor patios and gathering spaces which will make the new library complex attractive and a welcoming place for all ages to enjoy. We still anticipate the design development plans of Alten Construction with Noll & Tam Architects (ACI team) will be presented to the Planning Commission in June/July 2024.
After the Planning Commission review, the team will finalize design details and prepare construction drawings required to secure a building permit. This process is anticipated to take about four to five months, leading to a construction start in late 2024 or early 2025.
Donor Highlight – The Tamalpais Residents
In appreciation for the generous campaign support by residents at The Tamalpais Marin, Mayor Scot Candell, Vice Mayor Catherine Way and Library Director Damon Hill joined TCF President Ann Morrison for a reception and presentation this past month. The team shared the City’s selection process and timeline for the new library, along with a preview of the draft design. This was followed by a discussion of envisioned library services to support residents. Our thanks to resident library ambassadors Stuart and Molly Silloway.
