We hope you had a great Labor Day weekend.
We’re excited to share that the story poles for the new Larkspur Library are going up on The Commons parcel. The design development plans of Alten Construction with Noll & Tam Architects (ACI team) can now be commented on and viewed on the city website.
On Tuesday, September 17, the ACI team will present the plans to the Larkspur Planning Commission at 7 pm. This public meeting will take place at the Kreps Conference Center at Redwood High School, 395 Doherty Drive.
During this meeting, the Planning Commission will hold a public hearing for the design review, grading permit, and fence height exception for the new Library and Community Space at 10 Rose Lane. The meeting agenda can be reviewed here.
The project includes the construction of a new 8,970-square-foot, single-story library on the 2.39-acre vacant site owned by the City of Larkspur. The project also includes landscaping, grading, a 32-vehicle parking lot, and new wood fencing on the east property line.
If the Planning Commission approves the plans, ACI will then present the plans to the City Council in October. Once approved, the ACI team will proceed and finalize design details and prepare construction drawings that are required to secure a building permit. Construction is set to begin in fall or winter, depending on the weather.

This includes outdoor furnishings, outdoor reading areas and community spaces, and the purchase of additional plants and trees for garden areas.
