TCF Newsletter April/May 2025

Dear Friends,

We’re thrilled to share exciting progress on the Larkspur Library & Community Center project!

Julian Skinner, Larkspur’s Public Works Director and City Engineer, reports that construction is right on schedule. This is a major accomplishment thanks to the outstanding coordination between Nolls & Tam Architects, Kitchell (project managers), and Alten Construction.

With the recent completion of the concrete floor slab, work has started on the structural framework of the new library. View the lastest photo from the construcion cam.

After months of dedicated foundation work, we’ve officially entered the vertical construction phase — a major milestone that’s now clearly visible on site.

In fact, you can stay up to date by viewing the latest photo taken from the on-site construction cam here. The photo is updated every 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, behind the scenes, the landscape design team is making great strides — and we can’t wait to share the final designs with you soon!

A $5 Million Milestone to Celebrate

A group of people smile and pose indoors while holding a large ceremonial check for five million dollars made out to the City of Larkspur for its Library & Community Center. Banners and flags hang in the background.
Council members, donors, and TCF board members joined together to celebrate, reflecting the extraordinary spirit that makes this project so special.

April 2nd marked a truly historic day: The Commons Foundation proudly presented a $5 million check to the Larkspur City Council — a powerful symbol of the generous support from passionate community members like you!

During the celebration, Mayor Catherine Way reflected on the inspiring journey of this project, from its earliest planning stages to the citizen-led movement that brought it to life. It was a powerful reminder of what a determined, united community can achieve.

A heartfelt thank you goes to our visionary lead donors, whose passion for libraries helped ignite the campaign’s success. We also extend deep gratitude to every donor and to the incredible TCF Board Members — past and present — for their unwavering dedication and support.

There’s Still Time to Be Part of the Story!

We’re designing a beautiful donor wall to honor everyone who contributes $5,000 or more. If you’ve been considering a gift — or would like to increase your existing one — now is the perfect moment!

🌟 Room naming opportunities within the library are also still available. Reach out to us to learn how you can make a lasting impact on this inspiring project.

From all of us at TCF, thank you for helping us reach this exciting milestone.

We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished together, and we can’t wait to watch our new library rise, step by step.

With gratitude and excitement,

Ann Morrison
President, The Commons Foundation
