Happy New Year! It’s hard to believe we’re already in February.
As we step into 2025, we want to take a moment to reflect on the journey we’ve shared and express our heartfelt gratitude for your incredible support of the new public library at The Commons. Thanks to supporters like you, we’re seeing exciting progress as construction moves forward on The Commons parcel.
You may have noticed the buzz of activity on site this month. The story poles have come down, Alten Construction’s job trailer is now in place, and crews are busy laying the groundwork. They’ve begun digging the foundation for the parking lot, grading the site for the new library, and installing light-screening berms and crucial erosion controls.
Once the foundation is in place, rebar installation will begin. Weather permitting, light grading will follow, and by spring, we expect to see the new library and community center’s walls begin to take shape.
To keep you connected to this exciting process, the city will post regular updates on its website, including drone footage. TCF will share links to these updates in our communications as well.

How to Donate to The Commons Foundation (TCF) for the New Library
TCF continues to fundraise to ensure we have welcoming outdoor spaces surrounding the new library, including furnishings, landscaping a children’s area patio, outdoor reading room, outdoor community space, and additional trees and garden areas.
