Prototype new brand for Digital Library
The Commons Foundation with Jonathan Shambroom, Library Trustee, and Franklin Escobedo, City Librarian, presented to the Library Board of Trustees a proposal for private funding of a new Digital Library for the Larkspur Library.
“We see it as the first phase of our new library community center at Rose Lane,” said Joe Jennings, President, The Commons Foundation. “The new Digital Library has the best overlap of safety, access and efficiency of the options available at this time to deliver library services.”

Circulation Desk, Help Desk, Chat, Email
The new Digital Library will require a new website to serve as the hub, social media for service delivery and communications, an online community, and marketing resources to make people aware of new content and how to access and enjoy it.
The Library Board of Trustees expressed their excitement for the proposal and we expect to broaden the support for the proposal in the coming weeks.

“We want everyone to understand two things: one we are not asking for more funds from the city — we will raise them privately; and two we are partnering with people and organizations to develop the strategy and then execute it as we raise the funds,” said Jennings.
