Larkspur Library Season of Giving
The Larkspur Library Season of Giving
campaign opens with a particular urgency this year.
In the spring, the city reduced the library budget by more than 30%. The Friends of Larkspur Library and The Commons Foundation stepped in, contributing funds from the Annual Campaign to ramp up the Library’s physical and virtual services to meet the new and continuing needs of our community.
Improved virtual services allow library patrons to:
- Connect online via the new website, https://www.ci.larkspur.ca.us/296/Larkspur-Library.
- Read the weekly online newsletter (Book Sizzle) and keep caught up on Twitter and Facebook.
- Use the up-to-date online employment databases (AtoZ) and skills-learning programs (Udemy).
- Download e-books (Libby) and watch movies (Kanopy).
- Zoom in for programs such as tutoring services, a Marin Master Gardeners class, author interviews, and twice-weekly Storytime.
Improved physical services include:
- More print, e-book and audio books for children and adults.
- Tent and bags for curbside pickup and drop-off of reserved books.
With innovative and energetic adaptations to pandemic limitations, the Larkspur Library has sustained and uplifted our community in these challenging months. Your contribution to the Season of Giving campaign will allow our beloved Larkspur Library to continue to make its rich resources, familiar and new, readily available to our entire community.
